The November 1 SNAP cuts could cost Connecticut $44 million by next September, the end of the federal fiscal year. The benefit cut will affect all households that receive SNAP, the majority of which include children, seniors, or people with disabilities. In Connecticut, nearly 150,000 children live in a household that receives SNAP. Their benefit cut will affect 77,000 households at a cost of $24 million. Similarly, nearly 95,000 seniors and people with disabilities receive SNAP. Their households will experience a $15 million benefit cut over the same period.
