When I arrived at work this morning, there was one voice mail message in my inbox. It was left at 10:00 last evening by a woman from West Hartford. She said she is married with three children. She said her husband's job situation is tenuous right now and he is currently off from work without pay. She said that they have always contributed to Foodshare and may now need to receive help in order to feed their children and their pets. And she wasn't sure how to go about receiving that assistance.
Needless to say, we called her back with some local options of places she could get help. Just one more reminder of how the specter of hunger can affect anyone!
