Disaster response

One of the roles that Foodshare plays is disaster response.  We work with the State Emergency Operations Center, the National Guard, the Red Cross, and other disaster relief efforts to provide food in times of disaster.

With last weekend's disastrous snowstorm, Foodshare has been working with FEMA and the Connecticut National Guard to help with the distribution of MRE's (meals, ready to eat) for people without power.  A total of 37 pallets of MRE's has been made available for this distribution over the last few days.
