Retired teacher and community volunteer, Jack Bannan, was recently recognized by Foodshare for starting the turkey drive in the Farmington Valley that now bears his name. This year marks the 18th Jack Bannan Turkey Trot, and supporters are looking forward to collecting 3,500 turkeys.
To recognize Jack’s long term commitment to the drive, Foodshare recently to recognize Jack and his daughter, Marianne, with a certificate thanking them. Although Jack isn’t as active in the drive – Marianne coordinates the logistics – his legacy lives on.
