Connecticut residents who want to apply for SNAP benefits can access printable applications online and use an online eligibility-screening tool. But people in 35 states can apply for benefits online, and those in 19 states can calculate their benefits online either at their home state’s website or by linking to the USDA benefit calculator. Policymakers and advocates in most other states have online access to their state’s SNAP policy manuals and statistics. The Center for Budget Priorities and Policy recently published two papers that list states’ online resources for SNAP and four other safety net programs—TANF, Medicaid, CHIP, and childcare assistance.
