Farmer's markets

Some tidbits I have gleaned at various meetings this week...

Three of the farmer's markets in Hartford will be not only accepting the SNAP EBT card, but via private funding, will double the benefit for anyone using SNAP at the market.  The markets that are doubling include Billings Forge, Chrysalis Center, and the North End Market.

Chrysalis Center is a brand new market, in conjunction with the Freshplace initiative.

The North End farmer's market, on Coventy Street, will have a grand opening on June 27 with various officials, both local and national present, along with live music.

And, if you are going to Rose Weekend at Elizabeth Park next weekend, all of the Hartford farmer's markets have banded together to have a special, one-time market at Elizabeth Park on June 23.
