The Arizona End Hunger Advisory Council, a volunteer group involving the Association of Arizona Food Banks and business, nonprofit, government, foundation, and academic leaders, has developed a comprehensive plan to end hunger in the state. The plan’s goals include increasing participation of pregnant women and their infants in food assistance programs, improving access to meals for seniors without transportation, and improving service provider coordination and resources to increase child access to out-of-school-time meal programs during the evenings, weekends, and over the summer. Data shows 25% of Arizona residents struggle with hunger.
