Connecticut Food Bank loans a van to Foodshare

Feeding America food banks, of which Foodshare is proud to be one, have a long history of cooperating, rather than competing with one another.

And here's one local example.  Foodshare's volunteer retail pick-up program has a challenge keeping up with all of the pick-ups in the summer when many volunteers are on vacation.  So we built into this year's budget plans to hire a student for the summer to cover those pick-ups.  But then we realized we probably needed to provide that temporary worker with a vehicle for the pick-ups.

Rather than Foodshare having to rent a vehicle, the Connecticut Food Bank stepped up and has loaned us one of their vans!
