Summer Food Service Program

Summer Meals promotion is in full swing at Foodshare.  Beatrice Maslowski, Community Network Builder at Foodshare and Aneta Strumilowska, America Savings Foundation Summer Intern at Foodshare, are pictured with copies of the summer meals flyers.   Leveraging the power of Foodshare’s local Hunger Action Teams (HATs) in the 12 communities with summer meals sites, 25 site specific flyers were developed by the HATs, 15 of which were specific to Hartford neighborhoods.  Distribution channels include paper and electronic copies of the flyers with new robust social media outreach.  Representatives from the Hartford, Windsor and Plainville Hunger Action Teams participated in three of the official EHC! Summer Meals Blitz’s held June 22-June 26.
