Despite a foggy start, the 13th Annual Food Industry Convoy of Caring rolled out of Rocky Hill with 26 trucks participating. That doesn't include the dozens of food industry representatives from around the region who showed up be recognized as our hunger heroes!

Large-scale (year-round) donations from the companies below, and many others, allow us to provide 3 meals for every dollar received. Since 2000, food industry companies have donated the equivalent of more than 108 million meals for our hungry neighbors! Without the support of the food industry, we would not be here, and many of our hungry neighbors would continue to struggle.

Thanks to an appearance by WFSB, Channel 8, NBC Connecticut and Fox CT these companies received plenty of time in the spotlight, during which they stressed the importance of the fight to solve hunger, spreading awareness of Foodshare, and our mission, in homes across Greater Hartford.

During the breakfast, a representative from Senator Chris Murphy's office presented us with an official proclamation declaring September 30 as #FightHungerDay here in Connecticut. We hope this serves as yet another affirmation of the great work we all are doing day after day!
