Planning for the future

This afternoon / evening the Foodshare Board of Directors, Strategic Implementation Committee, and management team met together with our advisors from Rainmaker Consulting to discuss and plan for moving forward with both our facility needs and the implementation of our BHAG’s (Big Hairy Audacious Goals).  The result of the meeting was the passing by the Board of motions to move forward with a capital campaign.

It was discussed that the result of these motions will be that the Facilities, Finance, and Fund Development Committees, along with the management staff, are authorized to proceed with planning on both the facilities project and the capital campaign, including possible solicitations of early donors.  The Facilities and Finance Committees will need to come back to the Board of Directors with a final plan and contract for the building project, along with a financing plan, for approval at a future meeting.  The Fund Development Committee will also come back with a two-phase plan for the campaign for approval.

New Board member Stephanie Stone sent out this follow-up note after the retreat:  I left the retreat this evening feeling inspired, and honored to be part of such an interesting, intelligent and committed group.   I look forward to a successful campaign.  BRING IT ON!”

We have some big challenges ahead of us, but I hope we are all inspired to work our way through the ambiguity and make these dreams a reality!
