Volunteer Activity on Friday, July 13th!
Foodshare is partnering with End Hunger Connecticut! this Friday, July 13th from 9:30 am - 1 pm to supply information on summer meals to Hartford area parents. Thirty volunteers are needed to distribute flyers, lawn signs and other materials about the Summer Meals sites where kids can have lunch. Focus will be on local businesses, stores, libraries and other likely locations that Hartford parents would go. Teams of 3-4 volunteers will distribute information, directed by End Hunger staff.
Why: Only 1 in 4 kids who qualify for free school lunches get meals at summer meal sites. We want to blanket Hartford with materials, making it easier for them to find food this summer.
