Senator Lieberman visits Mobile Foodshare

Senator Joseph Lieberman visited the Mobile Foodshare site in Rocky Hill today.  This site is sponsored by Oasis Church and is relatively new, as this was only their fourth distribution.  Despite the cold rain, and enthusiastic group of volunteers greeted the 70 or so people who showed up to receive food.

The Senator came, not only to meet the people and see Foodshare's work, but also to recognize us with a "Joe's Hero" award.  I say "us," because, even though the certificate has my name on it, it's really about all of the thousands of donors and volunteers who make this work possible.

Thank you to the Senator for acknowledging this and thank you to each and every one of you for what you do day in and day out to help end hunger in greater Hartford.
