Volunteers help with food pick-ups

Through Foodshare's volunteer retail pick-up program, trained volunteers pick up food directly at local grocery stores and deliver it to a nearby food pantry or community kitchen.  This is a relatively new effort Foodshae has undertaken and we already have 98 volunteers picking up donations at 24 stores in greater Hartford.

Stores taking part include Aldi's, Geisslers, ShopRite, Target, Tops Market, and Walmart.  Thank you to both the stores and the volunteers who are ensuring that good food gets to peoople who need it, and is not discarded.
