One of the little pleasures of my job is calling some of the generous donors who support our work, not to ask them for a gift, but just to say thank you.
Today, I was touched by a donor who said to me, "We are very strong advocates of what your organization is doing. We were concerned that because of Hurricane Sandy's devastating effects on other parts of the region, some donors might divert their gifts to disaster relief. As a result, we decided to increase our gift this year."
What a generous spirit of giving!
