We may be in the midst of the annual "Turkey and Thirty" campaign, but the regular work at Foodshare continues, also.
New Retail Pick up Volunteer Jill finished her training on Tuesday and started at Shop Rite in East Hartford yesterday. She was excited to see the store had 18 boxes (approximately 330 pounds) ready for her. She also learned that her car holds exactly 18 boxes.
Jill delivered to East Hartford Interfaith Ministries Friendship Center. Pam Douglas and the volunteers at EHIM-Friendship Center were there waiting to help Jill unload.
It's great to see all of this good food being saved and put to good use rather than discarded!
