On December 21, Alstom presented a check for $1,775 to Foodshare, following an employee-led fundraising campaign with a holiday theme.
Foodshare ornaments decorating a festive tree in Alstom’s Great Pond office were offered to employees in exchange for a voluntary contribution. In order to further encourage donations, one employee offered to shave-off his trademark moustache of thirty-seven years if all baubles were taken down by 19 December.
Alstom has been a regular supporter of Foodshare for many years. Proceeds are used to feed hungry families throughout Hartford and Tolland Counties.
“The employees of Alstom are delighted to support Foodshare and to help them achieve their vision of a hunger-free community,” commented Jeff Sizer, Managing Director of Alstom’s Boiler Area Center business. “We have established a close relationship with this great organization over the past several years, and we are proud to be able to continue supporting this admirable cause.”
Jeff Sizer, along with many employees who have been involved in coordinating fundraising activities, presented the check to Gloria McAdam, Foodshare President and CEO at Alstom’s offices in Windsor, Connecticut.
