Tomorrow: Day of Action

Tomorrow, Wednesday March 20, NETWORK, The Catholic Social Justice Lobby, is sponsoring a day of action in Wasington, DC.  People of faith from across the country will be visiting the offices of their elected officials to encourage Congress to protect families and seniors, reject austerity, and remind them that we have #Enough4all. The "Loaves and Fishes" Day of Action is a coordinated, multi-state movement to highlight the need for moral and political courage in federal budget negotiations.

Politicians are squabbling over taxes and spending cuts. Influencing the negotiations feels impossible, and yet the consequences of these budget decisions will deeply affect our communities, especially the most vulnerable among us. The faith community must raise its voice.

Whatever your faith, you are welcome to join in.  Here are a few things we encourage you to do to join in the action wherever you are:
  1. Send an email message to your members of Congress.
  2. Use social media to join in the conversation by using the hashtag #Enough4all (view more social media suggestions, including sample tweets, images & blog posts here). You can also link your Facebook & Twitter to our Thunderclap.
  3. View this video and share it with your friends and family.
Work with children you know to color in these images of loaves & fishes, write a program that you think should not be cut (Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, WIC, etc.) and mail or personally deliver those to the in-district offices of your members of Congress.
