Yesterday's Washington Post has an amazing photo gallery with stories of SNAP recipients and those who are eligible but not taking part in the program.
One SNAP recipient is quoted as saying, “This is humiliating for us, but we have no choice.”
And others said that they don't want to go on SNAP but will if they get desperate. One man, who was picking up food from a food pantry, even said he would not go on SNAP because he "doesn't eat that much."
