Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman joined us to offer her appreciation to the more than 4,000 people gathered to walk. She said, “It is indeed inspiring to stand here today, and see so many people from so many backgrounds coming together to help their neighbors in need. This is the kind of spirit that makes Connecticut the greatest state in the country.”
There were some fun activites for the whole family going on at HartBeat Park, both before the Walk started and after the walkers returned, including face-painting and balloon art.
And the great DJ was spinning the tunes before and after the Walk. It was great fun to watch the young and the young-at-heart lined up for both dancing and a hula hoop contest!
