This week, the House Agriculture Committee is making important decisions about how to fund TEFAP and SNAP in the Farm Bill. Cuts to SNAP are expected to be approximately $20 billion. We need to fight back against these devastating cuts! - Once you are connected to your representative, state that you are a constituent and give your name and the town you are calling from. Be sure to give the name of the food bank or local agency you are affiliated with.
- Let them know you are calling about the Farm Bill and deliver this important message:
As your constituent, I urge you to vote for amendments to restore the SNAP cuts in the House Agriculture Committee’s Farm Bill and against the bill if those cuts are not restored. The $20 billion cuts to SNAP are unconscionable and will put a tremendous strain on our food bank. Please don’t hurt struggling families who truly need help by taking food from their dinner tables.
