State Legislators visit Mobile Foodshare sites

Brian Becker, who is the state legislator representing parts of West Hartford, Farmington, and Avon, is also a long time Foodshare volunteer, having served nine years on the Board of Directors and now in his second year as an Honorary Director.

Today, he invited two of his colleagues in the General Assembly to join us at Mobile Foodshare sites and help distribute corn on the cob, peppers, strawberries, orange juice, and cheese to needy Farmington Valley residents.  It's always eye-opening, even for me, to see how many people come out to the Mobile Foodshare truck to get a little help to feed their families.  We hope that these legislators will keep what they saw today in mind when they head back to the state capitol to work on policy issues!
