And the Winner is...

Who said today’s generation of kids are not activists? This year’s Student Voices Against Hunger contest was our largest ever with 8 different groups participating from schools, faith groups and after school programs .

A total of 151 students submitted an entry on this year’s theme  “Hunger may be sitting right next to you” .  Most of the art is now hanging at the State Capitol on the concourse, and will be on display until Oct 30th. Unfortunately there was more art than could be displayed!

The Awards Ceremony for winning art, essays and video will be held Thursday, Oct 24th in the North Lobby of the Capitol from 6 pm  - 7:30pm. The public is welcome to attend to congratulate these budding activists! If interested, please RSVP to Sarah Santora at 860 286 9999 X105.

Contest winners can be seen here.
