Duncaster donates

Duncaster’s Community Outreach is doing a little extra to make the holidays brighter for our neighbors.  The Committee awarded a total of $960 to Foodshare and the holiday food drive run by the Town of Bloomfield Dept of Social and Youth Services.

Foodshare serves Greater Hartford, providing food for food banks and promoting programs that increase self-sufficiency.   Their part of the donation will go to providing turkeys for Thanksgiving, plus year-round support to end hunger.  The donation to the Town of Bloomfield’s effort will provide 16 families with food baskets and gift cards. 

Duncaster’s Director of Foundation and Community Relations, Vanessa Giannasi, delivered their check personally to Foodshare’s Director of Development, Wendy Kohn, just in time to help with their “Turkey and Thirty” Drive before Thanksgiving.
