JOIN THE NOVEMEMBER 19TH #ABCDRBCHAT TWEET CHAT TO HELP FIGHT HUNGER IN AMERICA

One week from today, on Tuesday, November 19^th there will be a very special #abcDRBchat: A Tweet-a-thon to raise money – and awareness -- for Feeding America.

Disney|ABC is taking part by donating $750,000 to Feeding America.  Join Disney|ABC’s ‘Season of Service’ this month to double your impact and help Disney|ABC reach their goal of providing 40-million pounds of produce to those in need. When you donate to Feeding America in November at www.FeedingAmerica.org/abc, Disney will match your gift dollar for dollar – up to $250,000.  

ABC News' Dr. Besser will be joining Disney | ABC to donate $1.00 to Feeding America -  up to $10,000 -- for  every tweet that gets tweeted out during the hour-long ABC Health tweet chat on Fighting Hunger in America which will take place November 19 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., ET.

Dr. Besser ABC Tweet Chat Invite/Directions

 Thank you for agreeing to participate in the next Tweet Chat with ABC News’ Dr. Richard Besser on Fighting Hunger In America.  We hope you will be able to tweet with us on Tuesday, November 19th, at 1 PM, ET, hashtag #abcDRBchat.

Would you like to suggest a topic or question to discuss during the chat? Please send it to me by the morning of Monday, November 18th.  Do you have any clients, patients or friends who has struggled with hunger at some point who would like to attend the chat? Please invite them on our behalf. We would love to have the community represented.

 

Live Blog

Please tweet out any relevant photos, graphics or GIFS under the hashtag #abcDRBchat OR post them on Instagram (photos, graphics) the day of or one day prior to chat.

We can now post You Tube and VINE video as well so feel free to post under the same hashtag.

I will grab them for use in the Live Blog that will run simultaneously on the ABC News homepage during the chat. They must be hashtagged or they won’t show up in my search.

·         The name of your organization’s representative who will be tweeting including their email address and Twitter handle used for participation

·         Twitter handle of all accounts that will tweet out promotions

Before the chat

Please read through the following outline for how to participate in our Tweet Chat.

·         The chat will be held Tuesday, November 19th, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM ET. Mark your calendar!  

·         You must have an active twitter account. Please ensure this is set up beforehand.

·         Important! Please be sure you are familiar with twitter and tweet chats beforehand. View this storify link to a previous chat so you have a sense of how the chat flows. PR reps, please assist your experts to ensure they are comfortable with this medium.

Sign into the chat by 12:45 the day of the chat

1.       Sign on to Twitter

2.       Next, go to tweetchat.com and sign into the app

3.       Enter the hashtag #abcDRBchat

4.       Follow the chat. Tweet as often as you like.

5.       Add appropriate topic “T”s to all responses. There are typically 6-8 topics during the chat – I do not have the topics beforehand – sorry!

6.       If Tweet chat is down, please use twubs.com or tweet deck to sign into the chat. Tweet Deck requires you add the #abcDRBchat hashtag to each tweet manually.

Promotion

Please feel free to invite as many of your employees, clients and followers to the chat. Help us promote the chat by tweeting details several days before the chat and at least a couple of times the day of. Please feel free to post promotions on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and any other social media outlets. If you can promote through your organization’s email lists or newsletters, we really appreciate that too.
