A group of hearty souls participated in the “2013 Run/Walk-a-thon” held around Bushnell Park on the last week of October. The participants walked a total of 71 miles and raised $415.00. The friendly atmosphere of the group led to some interesting challenges. A timed event was undertaken for a one-lapper. The quickest time posted was 3:41.12 for the .68 loop. Jim Creighton’s efforts gave him the top fund raiser and the participant with the most laps, Bea Milne and Chris Vann followed with the next highest pledge levels. A notable cheer goes to Graham and Camille Stevens & Company (baby makes three) and not to forget our long time favorite runner Mark Lewis. Thank you to all who participated and to the staff of DEEP who supported these energetic souls. Please join us and walk or run next year!
