Turkey Trot off to a good start

The Jack Bannan Memorial Turkey Trot got off to a great start this morning with Scot Haney from WFSB Channel 3 live at the Simsbury Stop & Shop.  In just two-and-one-half hours, we collected 144 turkeys and several thousand dollars (still being counted!).

The drive goes on all day until 8:00 PM at nine locations in the Farmington Valley.  See a list of places you can donate here.

More to come later, but here are some early photos from the Turkey Trot.

Students at Avon High School are doing their own Turkey Trot to contribute to the cause.

The Buffalo Soldiers motorcycle club brought turkey donations and gave Scot a history lesson.

Donors of all ages got up early to see Scot in his turkey costume!
