We made it!

A steady stream of cars
with donations kept the
volunteers busy!
I cannot believe we started the day needing 2,033 more turkeys by mid-day for today's distribution and right around 12:30, we made it!

So we will be able to keep all of the distribution appointments today and should not be turning anyone away.

Cars, vans, and pick-up trucks were flowing into Foodshare all morning, some with one turkey, some with ten, and one group of three cars that had 100 turkeys!  WFSB Channel 3 came by with a reporter and camera a little after noon, and not only were they here to tell the story, they were part of it!  The employees of Channel 3 had taken up a collection and so the team stopped and bought nine turkeys on their way to Foodshare!

Thank you to everyone who has made this miracle possible.  Now we can all have a great Thanksgiving!

FM Facility Maintenance donated 100 turkeys and a
representative was interviewed by Channel 3.

Channel 3's Jason Frazer interviews volunteers from the
Church of the Good Shepherd in Hartford who were taking
151 turkeys for distribution to families back at the church.
