A new baby on the way

Yesterday, shortly before our monthly full staff meeting, the team at Foodshare threw a surprise baby shower for our Communications Specialist, Amanda Renna.  I'd say, by the photo, that we did pull off the surprise.

Talented baker Jordan made the cupcakes and creative genius Arelys put together a "diaper cake," made from disposable diapers and an amazing amount of baby supplies!  And many of the Foodshare team contributed the funds to let us do this for our friend and teammate, Amanda.

This morning, this note from Amanda was in all of our e-mail inboxes:

"When I first interviewed for this position 5 years ago, I never could have guessed what an amazing opportunity it would be -- in fact, I thought I flubbed the interview entirely!  But like many great things in life, I believe it was fate that brought me here. And while every job has its fair share of ups and downs, I can safely say that Foodshare has become like a second home for me. I always brag about how much I enjoy working with every, single person here and day after day I continue to be challenged on both a personal and professional level. I am truly driven by the passion around me, and the incredible work you all do on a daily basis.
