Teaching nutrition at summer meal sites


End Hunger CT!, through funding from Our Family Foundation, was able to offer Vernon Youth Services Bureau, as the summer meals sponsor, a pilot grant: Mission Nutrition, aimed to enhance the nutritional experience of summer meal programs.  As the Food Corps service member in Vernon, Catherine Hallisey, will be conducting cooking demonstrations/tastings at summer meal sites throughout the summer.  Last week, at Maple Street School, we used local squash and zucchini to make whole wheat squash pancakes.
