SNAP Challenge

One of the activities Foodshare is promoting during Hunger Action Month is the SNAP Challenge, in which people try to feed their families on the average SNAP benefit of $4.15 per person per day.

Foodshare staffer, Laura Roberts, and her family are going to try this for two weeks.  Laura says, "I am the SNAP Outreach Coordinator at Foodshare. I help people, on a daily basis, with questions and applications dealing with SNAP Benefits.  It seemed important that I should take the SNAP Challenge, not just for a week, but for 2 weeks. My family has agreed to join me in understanding what it feels like to live on a SNAP budget of $4.15 per day."

Laura will be blogging about her family's experience trying to live on a SNAP budget and you can follow her blog here.

Would you like to take the SNAP Challenge?  Learn the details and sign up here.  If you will be blogging about your efforts or posting to Facebook, let us know so we can connect with you and your experiences on this blog and our Facebook page!
