In late June, a talented group of industry leaders from our local communities decided to host what they hope to become an annual regional networking event for young professionals in Hartford and Tolland County, with a portion of the proceeds from the event going to support Foodshare’s work to end hunger. The event was called “Local Food, Local Fun, Local Impact” and was held at the Market Grille in Manchester. Fifty people bought tickets and attended this first-time event, and the raffle and additional contributions brought the total to a wonderful $500 donation! The co-hosts came out to Foodshare in August to present the check and got a tour of Foodshare’s warehouse.

remarked that “I am passionate about connecting with people, and Foodshare has
always been one of my favorite local charities. I am thrilled to see both of
these parts of my life come together at this special event”.
We are so
grateful to the Young Professionals Network for partnering with Foodshare to
end hunger!
