Food Industry Convoy of Caring

Yesterday's 12th Annual Food Industry Convoy of Caring was a fitting end to Hunger Action Month.  The Convoy started in the wee hours of the morning, with trucks lining up starting at 4:00 AM and several local TV stations on site for live reports on their morning newscasts.

26 trucks were expected in the Convoy and nearly 200 people from local food companies joined us at the recognition breakfast at the Sheraton in Rocky Hill.  The trucks delivered 87,705 pounds of food to Foodshare.

Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success:  volunteers, the great folks at the Sheraton, local and state police, and most especially the food donors who make what we do at Foodshare possible every day all year long!
