I stopped by the main collection site at Henry James Middle School and watched as Marianne Bannan, fresh from Stop and Shop’s location in Simsbury, marshalled the police force to pick up turkeys at the many sites for the Jack Bannan Memorial Turkey Trot. Following that stop, I found Bill Bixler and Suzanne Jackson, along with a crew from radio station TIC, collecting turkeys and donations at Fitzgeralds, a long-time collection site for the Bannan Turkey Trot. Lastly, I met Frank Kulig and Wendella Benjamin (pictured) at Geissler’s in Bloomfield, also collecting for the the Jack Bannan Memorial Turkey Trot.
