Hartford Pantry Shows Appreciation to Walmart Neighborhood Market
On Wednesday morning Eileen Morse, Pantry Coordinator at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford, arrived at Walmart’s Neighborhood Market in West Hartford with home baked treats for store associates. She felt compelled to visit the store to personally thank the staff for their time and efforts in processing food donations each week. These donations include fresh produce, meat, dairy, bakery and dry goods. Eileen wanted them to know how grateful she is for their donations and what it means to the many people who rely on help from the pantry. Foodshare Retail Pick-up volunteer Steve Swigert also thanked staff members for being so friendly, prepared, and helpful during his weekly pick-ups. As this store nears its two year anniversary, their commitment to donating nutritious foods has remained consistent. Within Foodshare’s Retail Pick-up program, this is the only retail location donating food seven days per week. This shows their tremendous dedication to helping people in their community.
Is your faith community dedicated to helping others? Volunteer as an organization and join groups just like Eileen's to help your neighbors in need.
