SNAP Participation Continues To Drop

According to a state-by-state analysis 2,137,387 fewer people are participating in SNAP since July of 2015. The downward trend likely reflects a mix of factors: on the one hand, improved economic conditions have lessened financial need among some households, and harsh time limits have pushed certain jobless adults off the rolls. Connecticut’s participation rate has dropped 3.1%, bringing the total number of participants down to 425,511.
