According to a state-by-state analysis 2,137,387 fewer people are participating in SNAP since July of 2015. The downward trend likely reflects a mix of factors:
on the one hand, improved economic conditions have lessened financial
need among some households,and harsh time limits have
pushed certain jobless adults off the rolls. Connecticut’s participation rate has dropped 3.1%, bringing the total number of participants down to 425,511.
