Foodshare Volunteer Reaches 1000 Hour Mark

Earlier this week, one of Foodshare's devoted volunteers, Betty Domer was acknowledged for 1,000 hours of service.

Betty began her journey as a volunteer back in 2007 as a participant of the Leadership Greater Hartford's 3rd Age Initiative program. Betty and 8 other participants developed a curriculum for a SNAP outreach program, that consisted of teaching volunteers how to fill out SNAP applications for clients. It was officially embraced by Foodshare in 2008, and has since expanded to having six classroom hours, two field sessions with a mentor, and a few dozen volunteers.

Foodshare's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Chris O' Rourke presented Betty with a Foodshare fleece sweatshirt as a gift in honor of her accomplishment.
