Apples, apples everywhere

Apples are everywhere and people are picking them for a variety of cooking projects, but this morning Zach and his dad, Ben Adler stopped at Foodshare to deliver over 200 apples toward Mobile Foodshare. Zach is preparing for his Bar Mitzvah, he and friends spent some time at the Lost Acres Orchard in North Granby yesterday. Along with apples a generous gift of $613.00 was donated by Zach with a story behind the number 613. He tells us that the number represents the number of commandments in the Bible.

Ginny and the staff at Lost Acres Orchard have been long time friends of Foodshare. After picking all the apples they could and ready to purchase them, Ginny insisted they accept them as a donation.

Autumn is coming this week and Zach, dad and friends have given us a great start of the season.
