Foodshare employee profile:
Janice Traczyk


ROLE AT FOODSHARE: Director of Business and Support Services, handles myriad duties including insurance, banking, payroll and employee benefits, and overall office management.


FOR HOW LONG:  20 years

HOBBY:  Gardening

LATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:
  In the last year, Janice has transformed what was called the “Support Staff” into the “Administrative Professionals Team.”  Janice and the team members report that they function better and accomplish more than in the past.  Janice sees the team as critical to Foodshare’s success – the more administrative details the team can handle, the more time everyone else has to focus on the core work of Foodshare:  fighting hunger.


WHY I DO WHAT I DO: “I get to do what I like to do for work (play with numbers) with the underlying benefit of a good cause.” 

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT HER: Some call her “dragon lady” for her attention to the details of policies and procedures.  Others, like Foodshare’s CFO and auditors compliment her for the same reason!  The officers, both the professional staff and the Board officers, can’t imagine where Foodshare would be without her!

GOAL: “Focusing on what people have in common rather than the differences we think set us apart from each other.”
