With 39% of Windsor's school students being eligible for free or reduced-price meals during the school year, it was good to hear at the recent Windsor Hunger Action Team meeting that there is a plan for summer meals for these children this year.
There will be summer food sites serving lunch and an afternoon snack to any child under 18 in the south end of town at the Deerfield apartments and in the north end of town at Chateau Woods. In addition, the summer school at Kennedy School will provide meals to those who are income-eligible.
Learn more details about Windsor's program or for any town in the region by calling 211 or texting CTmeals to 877877.
