Learn more about the plans for the Hartford Regional Market

Master Plan for the Redevelopment and Revitalization of Hartford Regional Market Tuesday, March 18, 2014, 5:30 p.m.
Center for Contemporary Culture, Downtown Library
The Hartford Regional Market was established in the late 1940s and is home to 15 wholesale food businesses, a restaurant, Foodshare, and the state's largest farmers' market. The Connecticut Department of Agriculture has engaged a team of consultants to develop a master plan that will seek to redevelop the Market into the best regional food hub in the country. Ted Spitzer of Market Ventures, Inc., the consultant team leader, will present findings from the team’s research. He will also share innovations from state-of-the-art facilities around the country and discuss their community impacts in terms of access to fresh, healthy foods; job creation; business incubation; and education.
