Phoenix summer interns raise money for Foodshare

Summer interns from The Phoenix Companies organized the 5th annual Ice Cream Extravaganza this week to raise money for Foodshare, greater Hartford’s regional food bank.  The interns raised $4,040 from lunchtime events in Phoenix’s cafeteria and the grand finale ice cream eating contest sponsored by A.C. Petersen’s in West Hartford on August 10.  Jason “The Strawberry Topping” Zwanch, of Bristol, CT, pulled off an impressive victory over four of his coworkers, consuming 17 scoops.  Phoenix employees sponsored the competitors on a per-scoop basis.
