Seasonal donations

Foodshare often receives donations of seasonal items after the season is over - holiday candy after the holidays, and so on.  We never turn down these donations, but it's always nice when we receive those kinds of donations before the holiday, allowing the local shelters, soup kitchens, and other social service organizations to use them in observances of a holiday.

The Walgreen's regional distribution center in Windsor is a large donor to Foodshare and we were thrilled this week to receive a variety of Valentine's Day products.  Though not food, these donations will brighten the days of people needing food assistance and help create the sense of dignity and hope that moves people toward self-sufficiency.  (And we should note that Walgreen's donates a lot of food, also!)
