"Change for a Change"

Last week, I stopped by the Hartford Federal Credit Union and learned about a great project they did to support Foodshare during the holidays.

According to Beth Markowski-Roop, their Business Development Manager, "We were so pleased to be able to donate $1,000 to Foodshare through our annual 'Change for a Change' campaign, asking our members and employees to donate their spare change to fight hunger in our community. We hold this campaign annually from November 24 thru December 31. Our members generously donated $500 towards the campaign, and HFCU employees matched that donation thru our 'Casual Day' fund, where HFCU employees pay $1-$2 to dress casual on Fridays. Assisting your organization is truly important to myself, Ed, and our co-workers, as we are well aware of the dire need for food in our community and the hardships that far-too-many are facing.  We are humbled to be able to play a small part in providing food to others in need."

Thank you to everyone - both members and employees - at the HFCU for your generous support!
