In The Spotlight: Webster Bank

Webster Bank has been supporting Foodshare's mission of ending hunger since 2002. As a Gold level sponsor of our Annual Walk Against Hunger three years running, they help to ensure thousands of our hungry neighbors receive the help they need day after day.

"At Webster Bank, we give of ourselves in the communities we serve. We believe in giving back to the communities we serve through volunteerism and...we place an emphasis on supporting organizations...that enable those who need a helping hand to secure economic self-reliance."

Webster Bank truly understands what is needed to achieve Foodshare's mission of ending hunger. In response, the company has provided financial support for a multitude of programs over the years. Most recently, in 2011, they were right there with emergency funding after greater Hartford was hit hard by a bevy of unexpected storms. In the past, they have also funded our Produce Recovery efforts to provide nutritious and fresh options for our hungry neighbors. And a large gift during our Capital Campaign helped set the "foundation" for a new facility in Bloomfield.

All of this is in addition to the wonderful employees who dedicate time to volunteering in our Regional Market, Walking Against Hunger and fundraising on behalf of our Turkey and a Twenty Campaign. Bob Annon, Webster’s regional president for northern Connecticut, put it best, “When the food banks and their suppliers are in need, we find a way to respond. Foodshare is an important partner in the fight against hunger.”

Thanks Bob and Webster Bank for all of your support!
