Today, the staff at Foodshare celebrated Don Scott’s 10th anniversary with the organization. We first got to know Don when he worked at the Manchester Alternative to Incarceration program in Manchester and brought groups of community service volunteers to our (then) new facility at the CT Regional Market. He left AIC just at the time we were looking to hire someone for that location and has been there ever since. Don worked full time and then some (covering all Saturday hours) for most of his employment with Foodshare, but once he reached a certain age, he decided to, sort of, retire and now he works part-time, mainly handling the Saturday volunteer supervision, but also filling in as needed. Gene noted today that Don has probably worked with 10,000 volunteers over his 10 years at Foodshare! Thanks for all you have done, Don! It’s hard to believe 10 years have flown by already!
