State Senator Joe Markley visited Mobile Foodshare at The Tabernacle in Southington on Tuesday. His district includes Southington, Wolcott, Waterbury, Cheshire  and his committee work includes the Human Services Committee, Ranking Member and Appropriations.

Senator Paul Doyle hands
out sweet potatoes to
people in Wethersfield.
State Senator Paul Doyle visited Mobile Foodshare at the Lancaster Road, Wethersfield site, today, along with recent visits to two other sites in his district. Senator Doyle represents  Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, Newington , Middletown and Cromwell. He is the Majority Whip, Chair of the General Law Committee and Vice-Chair of Housing and Judiciary Committees .

These visits not only give the State Legislators the opportunity to see real people and the needs in their districts, they give us at Foodshare the chance to talk to the Legislators about the needs and what they can do about it in their duties at the State Capitol.

And real people and needs are just what they see.  Today in Wethersfield, 124 people lined up to receive sweet potatoes, white potatoes, red peppers, green beans, lettuce, and even ice cream!

The line extended through the parking lot and wrapped around the truck.
