"Jeans for Greens" at Hartford Hospital

Evette Martinez called Foodshare looking for a way for her coworkers to help hungry people. The Women’s Ambulatory Health Services team at Hartford Hospital recognized the need for pregnant women and new moms to have healthy food. They decided to hold a “Jeans for Greens” day, allowing staff to wear jeans if they contributed to Foodshare. $145 was raised for the cause, enough to provide a month’s worth of healthy food for five local women. Evette said the group plans to make it a yearly event!
