Governor Malloy visits Foodshare

Steve Slipchinsky, Foodshare; Governor Malloy;
Gloria McAdam, Foodshare; and Commissioner Reviczky.
Governor Dannel Malloy and Commissioner of Agriculture Steven Reviczky visited Foodshare's facility at the Connecticut Regional Market today as a part of a tour of the Market.

The Regional Market is a state-owned facility, which houses nineteen wholesale produce companies and operates as a self-sustaining business.  The Regional Market is the largest single source of fresh produce between New York City and Boston and Foodshare is pleased to have space at the Market, allowing us to work with those companies to make sure that low-income people have access to fresh produce.

We were happy to tell the Governor and the Commissioner about our work and to let them know how, with more space, we could provide even more healthy, fresh food to people in need.
