It's only October, but the turkeys are already flying in at Foodshare! We've received word this week that Stop & Shop Supermarkets will be donating 1,000 turkeys on October 28 and C & S Wholesale Grocers donating 360 on November 2.
Thank you to these great companies for their generous support all year long and for helping meet the special need for turkeys at Thanksgiving.
How many turkeys will Foodshare need this year? I can't answer that question yet. We are right in the middle of collecting an application from every family who needs a turkey and will announce the goal in early November. Know that it is a real goal, and falling short of the goal means someone will go without. Look for updates soon here and at www.foodshare.org.
